i research quite deeply into the element, learn about it's properties, about it's general construction, colour, molecular density, and about its potency. Once I have an idea of what it would look like using ab-vector, I put ideas down on paper, and then transfer these to FreeHand.

This is for the elements that I do not already have an idea about (e.g., lithium) for Hydrogen, I used the idea of water.
